Unblocking Creativity
Releasing inner critics, awakening self-expression.

In The Deep End last month, we went deep with the parts of us that stop us at the starting line.
The voice that says, “You’re not ready yet.” The part that tries to protect us from failure, disappointment or struggle.
This session revealed how subconscious belief healing can shift long-held patterns that block creativity and clarity.
We looked at how that voice builds walls between us and our natural creative impulse — and how to move through those walls without bulldozing ourselves in the process.
It was a small and welcoming group — a mix of new faces and returning ones — which made it easy for people to go deep. We weren’t just talking about art or writing; we were talking about the bigger picture: what we want in life, and what’s actually blocking us from it.
How Subconscious Belief Healing Unlocks Creativity
Before we could get to the visualization of removing the obstacles, we had to have a clear understanding of what those obstacles were. To find clarity, we worked with a process called "digging". It is a belief work approach, also foundational to Theta Healing principals. This process helps uncover the reality behind why we stop ourselves in the first place, and it helps to replace the beliefs that are limiting us, with beliefs that truly honor the self and one's full potential. I shared my own example — wanting a car — and walked the group through a “belief digging” process to find the root of what was in my way. Here’s how my chain of beliefs unfolded:
I want a car → I don’t have enough money → I can’t create enough money to get or keep a car → The part of me that is telling me this is “The Poor One” → The Poor One believes being poor is safer because it protects me from success → Success feels risky because I could lose it all if I’m “not responsible enough” → Being responsible feels like the dread of giving up freedom and time for structure → Not having a car forces me to walk/bike, which actually costs me time and energy, and limits opportunities that could improve my life.
This is the kind of work that’s not about “positive thinking” — it’s about getting honest with the beliefs running the show, so you can decide if they still get to be in charge.
Ask yourself, "What is truly stopping me from creating what I want in life?" and be ready to be completely honest. It is usually the first idea that comes to you. Especially if you catch yourself dismissing it.
Behind this obstacle is a belief. What is that belief? What does it tell you?
The belief that you find here is often a message that you subconsciously hold to be real, whether it is actually true or not. Sometimes these beliefs come from lived experiences. Sometimes they are echoes of other people's stories, their warnings, or the realities that other people live.
When you find the belief, it can sometimes be a serious reality check. And the realization can spark a chain of discovery that has the ability to alter your outlook on life.
We took some individual time within our space on Tuesday to reflect and write down some of the things that came to us during our digging of beliefs. Bringing these beliefs to the forefront is an important step in understanding where the blockage actually is.
Creating the Change: Overcoming Subconscious Beliefs to Visualize Momentum
After this groundwork, we were ready for a guided visualization inspired by the principals of Theta Healing. We got cozy on our blankets, chairs, and mats, tuned into the music and the space within us, and began. In our meditative states, we imagined seeing life from above, like a game board, and moving the pieces into place. We imagined removing obstacles like they're walls we could just pick up and relocate. We imagined funneling resources from one area of life to another like a flowing stream. It's from this vantage point, that the “impossible” starts to feel real.
We closed our gathering on Tuesday by making one small, concrete action plan for the next day — something that moves us toward what we want. And then, the harder part: honoring ourselves enough to follow through.

Resentment can feel like protection. It keeps us on guard against being hurt again, keeps us scanning for anything that resembles the old wound. But while it stands guard, it also hides parts of us in the shadows — pieces of ourselves we’ve forgotten, denied, or thought we had lost.
In this session of The Deep End, we’ll face resentment directly, trace what’s underneath it, and uncover what it’s been keeping in the dark.
The past cannot be erased, and we cannot be rushed to let go before we are ready. But we can seek the whole truth beneath the resentment.
We can bring what’s hidden into the light, where repair becomes possible. And we can begin recovering, reimagining, and reconnecting with the pieces of ourselves that have been guarded too long.
Upcoming Events
The Deep End meets on the last Tuesday of every month in Fort Worth, TX.
We explore a different theme each month, but it is all focused on bringing us back to center, so we can connect and grow with the deepest parts of ourselves.
